DirtBike Basic Training

Posted by jon

Well I completed my training to become a Dirtbike School Coach this past April in Dallas, TX. It was at the Honda Training Center, which is a really nice facility with 2 dirtbike training areas and 2 streetbike training areas also. The coach training involved a 4 day course that covered all aspects of proper bike control through teaching basic straight line riding, turning and stopping techniques which are all the basics a beginner rider will need to master in order to ride safely anywhere.

The MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) in connection with Honda and many other sponsors provide this training to their coaches at different locations throughout the nation. The MSF is a not-for-profit organization known internationally and has set recognized standards of excellence in motorcycle rider education and training. The MSF works with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), state governments, the military and other organizations to improve motorcyclist education, training and operator licensing.

I will be working directly with a local DBSROC Provider who has a formidable background in both street and dirtbike training. Courses are available at the Prairie City SVRA Park located near Sacramento, CA.

The Dirtbike School 1 day course offers basic rider skills, teaching of responsible riding practices, the risks of riding and proper management of those risks and also environmental awareness. Ages 6 and up.
